The standard form of the Q45D dissolved oxygen water quality monitor is an isolated loop-powered transmitter for continuous process monitoring. Options are available to field-convert the base unit into a line-powered transmitter, a battery-powered portable survey meter, or a dual relay-based controller, with the use of optional plug-in cards. The Q45D dissolved oxygen water quality meter can be converted at any time to any of these versions by simply plugging in the optional cards. This allows customers to utilize the same high quality sensor/transmitter for survey monitoring (or calibration checks) that they use for permanently mounted installations. ATI Model Q45D-ODO Optical Dissolved Oxygen monitor utilizes a fluorescence-based sensor to provide a reliable oxygen measurement. This sensor will provide years of service and, unlike other optical sensors, will not be degraded by exposure to direct sunlight. The optical dissolved oxygen sensor contains a fluorophore element that absorbs liqht at one wavelength, and then radiates light at a different wavelength (fluorescence). Oxygen molecules collide with the fluorophor which causes a non-radiative reaction, meaning the fluorophore element gives off less light. In short, molecular oxygen reduces (quenches) fluorescence and the concentration of dissolved oxygen can be determined by this quenching process. |
